Nice having you here Ron. Why did you decide to become an entrepreneur?
Honestly, I didn’t really have a choice but to become an entrepreneur. I really don’t like taking orders from other people, especially if I think I can do a better job than they can. It’s just not in my nature.
I always believed that I can do a better job than they can, and if it didn’t invigorate or inspire me than I just don’t care. I’m not going to do it.
I remember when I was 19 years old working at Banana Republic.
An older professor from Babson University was shopping for cashmere sweaters, and noticed me in my Banana Republic suit greeting customers at the door.
“How are you? Welcome to Banana Republic!”
He immediately came up to me, and gave me the strangest look almost like a concerned parent finding his kid with some drugs or something.
“What are you doing here?” he said
I looked at him confused, and replied “I work here…”.
He then said “Exactly. What are you doing here?”
I gave him a bothered look. Why is this guy attacking me or giving me such a weird energy?
“I’ve been a professor for over a decade, and I can tell by your body language you just don’t belong here. You’re wasting your time here. This isn’t your thing at all. You’re way too big for this”.
He then left the store with his wife, shaking his head in my direction.
I never understood what motivated him to tell me this, but the way things are going now I can easily see why this man would react this way.
It’s the same way I react towards others when I see their potential, and they even realize it.
We all exist for each other, and it makes sense to go for it. Don’t limit yourself!
We all don’t get the same chance again, so you might as well go for it!
If you’ve been thinking about it, just jump and do it! When you close your first deal, you can send commissions to my Paypal at ron@digitalbrandboosters.com
Who were your biggest influences? Was there a defining moment in your life?
My biggest influence is Anthony Robbins. When I was in my earlier days, around 19 years old, I had really bad habits.
I would drink and smoke black and mild’s repeatedly, get behind on rent, my friends were in and out of jail, and I was just going down the wrong direction.
I became depressed. It got to the point where I thought I had clinical depression. I ended up looking up “Depression Books” on Amazon because I was scared to talk to a therapist, and from there found Awaken The Giant Within.
I never read books and wasn’t into it. I was desperate and needed to change, so I started reading.
One of the most powerful lessons he gave me was the power over my own state.
If you went home and found out that your house burned down, how would you feel?
What about if a family member passed away?
What about winning a brand new BMW 3 series?
What about finding $100 in your coat jacket?
You see, there are different feelings being created in your imagination.
One thing people fail to realize is that you have your own control over these feelings.
If you’re waiting in traffic, you don’t have to be upset like everyone else. If you get a bad grade on your exam, you don’t have to feel sorry for yourself.
The day my life changed was the day I decided to stop letting my circumstances control my behavior, and instead make my own decisions.
I chose to be happy. I chose to get better grades. I chose to get ahead on my rent. I chose everything, and it always worked out for me.
He also taught me how to write goals and structure your results. One exercise he has us do is write down how you want your life to be one year from now, to the smallest detail.
“What kind of car? What kind of house? How much is the mortgage? How many square feet? How many miles per gallon?”
Write down everything you can as much as possible. From there, hide it from yourself and look at this paper next year. Did you get all of them achieved?
I usually get 80% of them down. Try it out.
What are you working on? How did you come up with this idea?
I’m working on my business Digital Brand Boosters! We boost your brand to millions, because anything less is a waste of time and money.
I came up with this idea when I was sick and tired of my sales job. I was a sales leader selling Verizon cable door to door, and had a small team of 3 underneath me who I would train on how to get more sales and become their own leaders.
During my time in University, I was working part time in my friends business, and was apart of the “behind the scenes” for $1,000,000+ software launch.
There was also a point in time I was making $1,000/hour doing webinars for people in the Internet Marketing Community.
After being exposed and experiencing situations like this, I had no choice but to move forward in that direction.
I followed Stephen Floyd’s advice of the “Friends And Family” MLM Method for gaining my first clients, and 7 days after I graduated and 5 days after I quit my job I had my first check coming in. This is how I birthed my company, Digital Brand Boosters!
“Friends And Family” MLM Method:
Most multi-level marketing companies help you get your first clients by following this system of lead generation. These companies make billions of dollars, and do so because they only use proven strategies that work.
Want to gain your first client in as little as 7 days? Mine was multi-millionaire!
Here’s how you do it:
- Make a list of all your friends and family. Make it no more than 20-30 clients.
- Log into your Facebook, and post this script as your status: “Hello Friends And Family, I’m currently changing direction in my career and looking for new opportunities. I am now focusing on Insert Your New Occupation* and if you know anyone I can provide value to and help, please let me know and reach out. Thank you so much. Enjoy your day!”
- Contact all 20-30 people with the same script asking them if they don’t help directly if they know anyone else please refer them.
- You should have your first 1-3 clients, and you can send my commission to ron@digitalbrandboosters.com
How is your product/service different and unique? What has been your favorite moment with it? What’s the vision?
We attend every marketing conference to stay up to date with our strategies, and use knowledge from top marketing books such as “Influence” by Cialdini and “Contagious” by Jonah Berger.
I’m a board member on various charities such as “The Unstoppable Foundation”, have a ton of millionaire mentors, and considered a millennial.
I also have a degree in Biotechnology, and use this information of dopamine and other neurotransmitters in our marketing for even better results.
We work with only the best, and are continuing to grow our impressive portfolio.
Did you experience failure along the way? What did you learn from it?
Everything I learned is from failure. What other way is there? There’s two things you must always be aware of:
- How teachable are you? 1-10? (Do you listen when smart people are talking, or do you learn from your own mistakes instead of others)
- What’s your willingness to change? 1-10? (Do you want to grow, or are you addicted to being in the same position?)
If any of these from 1-10 are extremely low, then you don’t have shot.
Value-add questions
Teach us something about {internet marketing, social media ads, fundraising, sales funnels or another topic} Can you recommend any favorite websites to learn that topic?
The best entrepreneurship advice you can have, is to only listen to qualified people who have what you want.
You’re going to need mentors to thrive, but you will never have mentors if you don’t become one yourself.
Give value to the point where people are getting results because of you, and new mentors will appear who will provide value to you just like you did for them.
There’s a universal law I always follow, which is “You always get what you give”.
While working on your project, have you come across any interesting bit of knowledge that you’d like to share? (i.e. any new research finding, any new platforms, some novel management technique, etc)
Hire only the best people, and make sure they don’t break agreements. Breaking agreements means that you said you were going to do something, and when that day comes it’s not done.
People who really aren’t doing too well in business, or poor employees always break agreements. The best ones don’t.
I would also say to make sure you donate 10% of everything you earn for not only the joy of giving a gift to someone else, but also to allow your mind the freedom to experience always having more than enough.
When you give away what you earn, you communicate to yourself that you have more than enough, and more will always be coming in.
Again, this is something I was always afraid to do until I tried it. That freedom opened up many doors for me.
And I want the same for you.
What daily habits do you have that allow you to perform at your peak?
- Doing The Hardest Thing In The Day.
- As soon as I wake up, the first thing I do is my Portuguese lessons. I break my iPhone out and get to these lessons the second my eyes open, because if I don’t do it first it just won’t get done.
- Next, I do some push-ups and ab workouts for at least ten minutes. My appearance is important to me, and I like to make sure I’m always in great shape.
- After this, I drive to a local coffee shop (with an audiobook on dating, investment, or business playing) and do 2 hours of the hardest work. This means looking over client projects, setting up new calls, and whatever tasks I’ve assigned to myself to get done. If I try to do this at 12:00PM, it’s much harder for me to do mentally and procrastination happens. Do this within the first two hours of waking up, every day.
- Gratitude:
- The mindset that you do your work in creates the results. When I work in a “I have to get it done mode” it’s never as good as the “I appreciate everything that comes to me” mode. You need to make sure you are in gratitude, and not in “survival we have fight” kind of mindset. The gratitude mindset always communicates love for your clients and what you do, which creates more opporutnities for both of you. The “survival” communicates that you need something from them, which is a taking from them and a winning from you. When it’s not a “Win-Win”, it’s always a loss. Be grateful for everything you have, and get yourself in the gratitude mindset. Here’ s how you do it:
- Put a timer on for ten minutes on your Apple or Android mobile device in a quiet place.
- Take your headphones on
- Navigate towards your music app “Spotify, Apple Music, or YouTube” and play any song by “Enya”
- During your meditation, first think about all the great things happening to you for two minutes while relaxing your body. Drop your shoulders, and relax your face while breathing comfortably
- After two minutes, think about your favorite memories for another minute
- By minute 3-4, you will feel extremely different. Contrast the feeling you have now, feeling grateful for all your wins and abundance and how you felt when you first started
- Analyze and realize that millions of others are trapped in this same feeling. What can you give them?
- Think about your ideal client. What can you give them to help solve their problems and make their life easier?
- How can you deliver this to them today? How much easier will it be for them?
- After the meditation is over, start your day!
I have a ton of other morning routines, but I’m just going to give those for now!
What should an entrepreneur focus on?
Focus on your family and being happy. Focus on the people who love you and care for you, because you’re going to be working a ton of hours and not be around often.
That’s what happens when you find what you love to do. Make sure you appreciate the people rooting for you on the sidelines.
Life is all about relationships. Don’t ever lose focus on your loved ones.
Walk us step-by-step through the process that you had to go through to get from the early stages to where you are today.
- Breakthrough Your Fear And Create Your First Client
o I realized that the brain always resets. If I gave you a million dollars, 6 months down the road you will get used to it. I realized that If I stayed in the job or left the job, my brain will get used to it regardless and I’ll still find a way to live. I chose to jump!
- Having A Business Partner To Double Your Efforts
o You can’t do all the work on your own. You’re just a freelancer if you do things that way. Get a business partner to mastermind with. Makes your life easier and results come faster
- Build An A+ Team To Multiply Your Results
o You need to build a team of people who can create results, fast. People who break agreements, don’t take their work seriously, and aren’t appreciative of opportunities should not be working with you. Get rid of these people, because they hold you back. Only hire people who are the best.
- Raise Your Prices To Increase Profits
o If you don’t change your offer and increase your prices, you will always be servicing the same clients. You should have tiers in your products and services, and make sure you raise prices to qualify your clients. Price is never an issue. Our largest package at the moment is $10, 000 recurring, and our lowest is around $1,000. Over time these will change, and that’s a sign your doing well!
- Don’t Work With Everyone To Limit Unproductivity
o Some people just aren’t the best to work with. They have things they need to fix, and it may not be the right time for them. Qualify these people, and make sure you are both a perfect match !
- Become More Organized To Service More Clients
o Use Asana to organize your business and team. Delegate tasks using a well known, easy to follow CRM! Use due dates and deadlines to get work done quickly. Always add more time to the due date you believe the project will get finished to leave buffer room just in case something goes wrong!
- Get A Mentor To Grow Quickly
o You can only get a mentor by being a mentor. Help others in your community and be known as the expert. Position yourself as the best, and get results for people. The more you give, the more you get and people don’t want to mentor anyone who doesn’t have potential or performance.
- Brand Your Business To Engage The Mind
o Your business can’t be like everyone else’s business. You have to stand our with your brand. Make sure you do things that make you different and penetrate the mind. Pick up the book, “22 Laws Of Branding” to learn more about this
- Understand Work-Life Balance To Have More Fun
o It doesn’t exist. Your work is your life, and you have to be okay with that. Integrate your friends and family with what you do, and everyday of your life will be amazing. I recommend leaving one day of the week for no work, that way you can recharge and give your body and mind the rest it deserves.
- Travel To Create Big Opportunities
o Nobody making billions or millions is going to fly to you when first starting out! I recommend traveling as much as possible and getting your connections up. It’s not all about who you know, but it does play an important part!
- Understand Your Own Limitations To Grow Quickly
o I recommend learning more about awareness and your own mind with a spirituality coach. This information is crucial to your success, and understanding you own limitations and disempowering engrams is a big deal to creating more results. Get your awareness up with this type of information, and you are golden!
