Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Apple sets to hold its annual September event virtually this Tuesday, September 15, having a pre-recorded video from Steve Jobs Theater and Apple Park. With a “Time Flies” tagline, an analyst from TF Securities, the event will be aired live through Apple’s Youtube channel, Apple’s Events Website and Apple TV application at 10 am PT/ 1 pm ET.
An analyst from TF Securities, Ming-Chi Kuo, presumed the possibility of the release of the new Apple Watch 6, iPad Air, and iOS 14 in this special event. Kuo is known for his predictions on Apple products based on Apple’s Asian supply chain information. Although it is critical, Apple usually discloses new products and versions of its prominent devices ahead of the holiday season.
The event may focus on the Apple Watch and iPad details, but it could include announcements like Apple’s AirTags and services bundle (AppleOne). However, Kou insists that new iPhones (iPhone 12) would not be made public until an October event as mass production is not yet enough.
As Kou predicts, some features that the iPad Air and Apple Watch models may contain are a Touch ID fingerprint sensor (iPad Air power button) and a sensor for blood and oxygen (Apple Watch 6 models). Meanwhile, Kou also inferred that some iPhone might support the fastest type of 5G networks called the millimeter-wave.
With the current features of the 7th-gen iPad (A10 Fusion chip), Apple might upgrade the entry-level iPad model using the new A-series processor. The company’s hardware reports in the said event may contain information about the upgraded Apple Watch Series, the latest iPad Air with brand new design, and the 8th-gen iPad.
Evan Blass (a.k.a EvLeaks) announced on his tweet that Apple would present on tomorrow’s event the 8th generation iPad with an A12X chip and lightning connector and the 4th generation iPad with the A14 chip and a USB-C connector. The 8th-gen will have these models: A2270, A2428, and A2429. The latest Apple Watch will also come in two sizes, each with both GPS and cellular versions.
Other possible disclosures might be about the software release dates of iOS 14, iPadOS 14, tvOS 14, and watchOS 7. The event might also reveal Apple’s Tile-like Air Tags item trackers, Apple One services bundle, and AirPods Studio headphones.
Although there is still uncertain news about this special occasion, exciting news about Apple Watch models and redesigned iPad Air is a must-not-missed event.
