Cameron Conrad knew it was the right time to quit his job and go full force into eCommerce after making more money dropshipping during one of his shifts than he did in a whole week of working as a busboy. In the last 3 years, Cameron has launched, scaled, automated, and sold multiple eCommerce dropshipping businesses with revenues as high as $22,000 in a day and up to $77,000 in a week.
That has to be life changing! How has dropshipping impacted your life?
Cameron: In more ways than one! Beyond the complete mindset shift from āconsumerā to āretailerā that I went through from 16 to 18 years old, dropshipping has been my sole vehicle to financial success. I wouldnāt say dropshipping has impacted my life. I would say dropshipping is my life.
eCommerce as a whole has become an obsession for the last 3 years. There hasnāt been a day go by since December 1st, 2016 that I havenāt worked on my eCommerce businesses. There also isnāt a moment in the day where I am not thinking about every aspect of my businesses. Itās a 24/7 job!
But all in all, dropshipping has given me the opportunity to build something bigger than myself. From being a solopreneur to now an employer, Iāve been able to gain incredible insights at a young age. This business has pushed me beyond what I thought were my boundaries not only in business, but life as a whole.
What are 3 tips youād give to anyone looking to get into dropshipping?
- Just
- Get
- Started
Cameron: By this, I mean quit with all this āresearchā stuff. Knowledge is nothing without application. So, start now, figure out the rest later, it will all come. Learn from the resources available to you. Start with google, treat it like a real business, & put some elbow grease into it. Nothing good comes free.
If you could do things over, what would you have done differently or better?
Cameron: I wish I began utilizing United States dropshipping suppliers earlier.
Dropshipping is crippled with a stigma around ālong shipping timesā & this causes a handful of back-end issues for store owners as well as each individual customerās experience. So, by providing faster shipping times, you now increase your rate of return customers, lower your rate of charge backs & returns, solve merchant issues, and get to provide an incredible customer experience (along with a great product of course). This makes turning a dropshipping business into a full-blown eCommerce brand much smoother and ensures the sustainability of the business.
What would you like the readers to take from this interview?
Cameron: There are two main projects that I’m working on right now
- www.konmobile.coĀ Itās a consumer electronics US-based store with traffic driven from Influencer, Instagram, and Facebook marketing
- www.dropship.coĀ An online platform built to educate, offer a support system, & connect entrepreneurs to his network of US-based dropshipping suppliers.
If anyone is looking for the right education platform to really learn and understand the in and outs of droppshipping then www.dropship.co is for you.
Can you go a little deeper into why you created dropship.co?
Cameron:Ā We foundedĀ www.dropship.co to provide an all-in-one platform for aspiring & professional dropshippers to learn, interact, & tap into our network of US dropshipping suppliers. With an eLearning area, eCommerce forums, articles by industry veterans, an expert help center, & of course.. Our US supplier network who provide expedited shipping & private-label capabilities.
