I recently had the opportunity to interview 24 year old, Benny Molina, CEO and Founder of New Music Clothing.
- Hey Benny, how old are you, where are you from, and what do you do?
Benny Molina: I’m Currently 24 years old. I was Born in Aguadilla , Puerto Rico. My family came over here when I was 2 years old and I was raised here in Massachusetts. I’ve been here 22 years and currently live in Oxford,Massachusetts. Right now I sell clothes and work on my brand everyday.
- Did you go to college?
Benny Molina: After graduating high school and getting my diploma I didn’t take any further education.
- What motivated you to be an entrepreneur?
Benny Molina: What motivated me most was Music. I know mostly everyone loves music just like I do and I knew that I could really build a community of people by using something everybody loves. Also as far as people I was inspired by other entrepreneurs as well.
- What made you start New Music Clothing?
Benny Molina: I started New Music Clothing because listening to music has always been my biggest motivation. Like many others, I’ve always been a raving fan of music and I know my message would resonate with others.
- How have you leveraged Personal Branding?
Benny Molina: Building a personal brand is one of the biggest keys to success in todays marketplace. Your personal brand will always last, and you can drive traffic to other businesses and brands through it, that’s why I love it.
- What does your average day look like?
Benny Molina: My Average day is working on the brand to spread the word of New Music Clothing and to let more people know about it. The more people that know about our clothing means that more people will love it.
- What are your 3 core principles?
Benny Molina: Quality, Sales, and Customer service are our biggest core principles.
- What would you tell an aspiring entrepreneur in high school right now?
Benny Molina: What I would tell them is to love what you do and make sure that whatever you want to do you will work hard at it everyday, and make sure it motivates you.
- How important has Self Education been?
Benny Molina: Very important because if you really want to learn how to do something then you would do all the research on how to do those things. Nobody is going to give you handouts. So if you don’t have a mentor you need to learn on your own.
- What are your future plans?
Benny Molina: My future plans are to grow the brand and to show others that through music they can be inspired everyday to accomplish their goals in life. I also want to inspire other entrepreneurs to follow their dreams in whatever it is that they are doing.
