Recently, I sat down with 7-Figure Real Estate Entrepreneur, Jordin Roussell. Jordin is also a best selling author, with his new book “Flip Your Life”. I asked him for his best tips, tricks, and strategies that have gotten him to the next level.
- Hey Jordin, how old are you, where are you from, and what do you do?
Jordin Roussell: I’m 23 years old, and I’m from New Orleans, Louisiana. I’m a real estate entrepreneur, best selling author and host of The Preeminent Podcast. More than anything, I’m an avid learner and doer.
- Did you go to college?
Jordin Roussell: Yes, but dropped out to pursue entrepreneurship. I never enjoyed school, and didn’t see it being necessary to achieve success in business. It was a big leap, but it has paid off and I’m glad that I did it.
- What motivated you to be an entrepreneur?
Jordin Roussell: I didn’t really see any other option. I wanted to live a life of travel, adventure, and wanted to meet extraordinary people wherever I go. After dropping out of college, my options were limited with what I wanted my life to look like in the future.
- What made you get into Real Estate Investing?
Jordin Roussell: Initially, a webinar! Crazy right!? I was following this guy on Instagram who was hosting a webinar that read “Find out how this 18 year old kid made $25k with none of his money or credit flipping houses”. I was in! After several months of self education studying a specific niche in real estate I went for it with zero monetary success, but I had developed the connections needed to really get to where I wanted. A few connections later, here we are… 50+ flips later. Before going full time in real estate back in April of 2017 I was working a job that I hated. So what do you do when you feel like you have no other options? I prayed, and I prayed and I prayed until I felt like God was really leading me on the path of real estate.
- How have you leveraged Personal Branding?
Jordin Roussell: I leveraged it to create world class friendships with several people around the country and many in other countries. I became an Amazon #1 best selling author by leveraging my personal brand and when you have a platform, no matter how big or small you really are making an impact in people’s lives. I try to be as authentic as I can be with what I post on my social media and the messages I get from people pouring their hearts out to me can be overwhelming sometimes. They see someone that is further along in life than them and he’s opening up about his faults publicly, it’s powerful.
- What does your average day look like?
My day is very simple, I try to maximize efficiency and do as few things as possible and maximize effort. Traditionally, it looks something like this.
- Meetings either in person, call or video call.
- Making sure marketing campaigns are in order for real estate company.
- Making sure we’re staying on track with budgets and timelines for flips.
- Go to the gym and workout.
- What are your 3 core principles?
- What would you tell an aspiring entrepreneur in high school right now?
Jordin Roussell: There’s two things:
- You have nothing to lose, but everything to gain.
- You’ll have many lessons in life. Some harder than others, embrace the process.
- How important has Self Education been?
Jordin Roussell: There’s a quote by the late Jim Rohn where he says, “formal education will make you a living, self education will make you a fortune”. Now, I’m not knocking anyone that’s in college, we need doctors, attorneys, and engineers, but I can personally say I never learned how to buy house, build credit, balance a check book, even write a check and many other practical things that are used in day to day life as an adult in my formal school days. All of those practical day to day things were learned because of self education. It’s crucial to your success as an entrepreneur.
- What are your future plans?
Jordin Roussell: I want to make an impact in so many ways. I want to teach people that you don’t need a lot of money to get started in real estate and build a life that you truly desire.
I want to build a community of people using The Preeminent Podcast that are all striving to be the best versions of themselves. The definition of “Preeminent” is surpassing all others, becoming the pinnacle if you will. The focus is five areas: physical, mental, emotional, spiritually and financial.
I want to continue sharing my story with people of how I overcome depression, heartbreak, insecurities and flipped my life around to become who people see me as today.
Above all, I want to inspire people to truly flip their life.
