In the financial industry, it’s hard to find people that really making money without using a perception or facade. It’s easy to look successful on Instagram but to be actually successful in a field like Forex is difficult and very few actually do it as a living.
I’ve had the pleasure to interview Shaun and Aman who run AstroFX– an online Forex and trading education company that educates people on creating financial freedom through learning how to trade the currency markets and how others can do so. Their journey hasn’t been an easy one but they have had a rewarding career so far in their entrepreneurial journey.
1. Shaun and Aman- how did you start AstroFX? Give us a backstory on your journey till today
Shaun: After leaving high school, I had enrolled in an apprenticeship program as an Engineer. However, a few days into this program I soon realized the typical ‘9-5’ wasn’t for me and I was destined for something more worthwhile. I could make a difference in my own life and those around me, where I would be my own boss.
Aman: Unlike Shaun, I had joined higher education, but just like him I realized this was not something I was passionate about and having completed my first year at University, I dropped out without opening my results.
We both discovered trading from searching for ways to make money online and soon realized the benefits of trading anywhere in the world and the small capital to do so. Several months later, we came across each other online and instantly realized they shared the same vision. Years later, having gone through several ups and downs, broken laptops and cell phones, we were finally making consistent profits.
People around started recognizing our talent to make money online and asked us for mentorship which we provided. The lightbulb moment was when a close friend suggested we should help other people learn how to trade and charge them.
We wanted to break the norm and the stereotype, so rather than setting up our office in London, we set one up in Birmingham, which although wasn’t the capital, it was the heart of England making it convenient for our students to travel from all over the UK and abroad.
With the complete transparency approach between the two directors and the passion for helping others, the Astrofx community grew to a global brand and both Aman and
Shaun have become one of the biggest social influencers within the industry.
2. What is your goal with AstroFX?
We want Astrofx to become a global brand and the most dominant company in the industry with a community of successful traders who all prosper together. Astrofx has always gone against the grain and pushed boundaries to challenge the status quo, and we don’t plan to stop anytime soon.
3. What are your proudest accomplishments so far in this journey of entrepreneurship?
Creating three successful businesses with a global reach, without spending a single penny on marketing. Astrofx, EverythingFX and Cryptonary have taken the world by storm and they are definitely our proudest accomplishments thus far. 
4. Tell us about a hard failure you’ve had and how did you overcome them?
We haven’t really had failures since with persistence and determination we have overcome each obstacle. We look at difficulties as challenges which need to be overcome.
However, one of the biggest obstacles we found was family and friends who doubted us, who questioned our ability to create our first business.
We were told we are young and we should go into well-respected jobs, Luckily this didn’t break our spirit, instead fueled the fire within to prove all the doubters wrong.
We always dream big and our personalities match that. We never do something half-hearted and our determination to succeed is second to none.
5. What is next for you business-wise and what kind of legacy do you hope to leave?
We want Astrofx to have global offices with the largest community of traders. With Everythingfx, we want this to become the ‘go-to’ website for anything related to trading and finally, with Cryptonary, we want this to the be the only source of useful news for everything Cryptocurrencies.
We want to be seen as the guys who inspired a generation to chase their dreams rather than settling for 9-5 jobs.
6. Give us a quick tip for aspiring entrepreneurs to be successful (I know you guys just got a McLaren and Lambo which is inspiring)
The Central London penthouse, Lamborghini and McLaren are just a byproduct of our hard work, but what we would say to aspiring entrepreneurs is to surround yourself with like-minded people who share the same vision.
If we were to share our dream or idea with you, we would expect you to share yours with us also, rather than causing doubt. We believe having a strong circle of visionaries who encourage and push you to strive to achieve your goals.
We highly encourage taking risks, taking risks takes you out your comfort zone, which as a result forces you to grow as a person and learn more about yourself.
And finally, we are advocates when it comes to seizing the opportunity when an opportunity comes knocking, you should grab the bull by the horns and see where it leads you!
