“Vision without action is merely a dream. Action without vision just passes the time. Vision with action can change the world.” Joel Arthur Barker
Meet Sulaiman al Fahim, a real estate/investment magnate as well as an advisor for ADAB Solutions, based in the United Arab Emirates. Sulaiman, whose interest in business was piqued when he worked in his dad’s pharmacy as a young man, founded Sulaiman al Fahim Holding Group at age 18. He also oversaw the UAE Chess Foundation, having once excelled at the game himself.
Tell us about your company. How did you come up with this idea?
Sulaiman al Fahim: I came up with Al Fahim Holding Group when I saw there was a gap in the market to facilitate deals between two parties. Not only that, but Al Fahim Holding Group also delivers high-quality products and services with a dedicated, highly trained and innovative management and support staff.
How did you promote your company in the early days?
Sulaiman al Fahim: Using social media and overtime I have made a lot of far-reaching connections, which also helped me promote my business around the world.
What are some secrets to virality/sales in your most successful online platform?
Sulaiman al Fahim: The nature of Al Fahim Holding isn’t sales. However, Twitter and online publishing enable us to discuss relevant topics or trends from around the world, particularly the United Arab Emirates.
Teach us something we don’t know about internet marketing.
Sulaiman al Fahim: Well, you have probably figured it out already, but online “cookies” have always been used to track the activity of individuals in order to tailor recommendations and advertisements based on one’s interests.
What do you think you do better than most people? How are you able to do it?
Sulaiman al Fahim: I believe that we all have certain skills that we’re good at. We are all in this world for a purpose.
From an early age I was good at chess, and that later helped me develop my skills in analysis and thinking ahead. As in chess, you always have to think ahead before doing it and if we apply that to life then we would be able to avoid a lot of avoidable mistakes.
What are some of the best books you’ve ever read?
Sulaiman al Fahim:
My Story by Shiekh Mohamed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum.
It consists of 50 memories from his 50 years of service, during which time the United Arab Emirates has become one of the most developed countries in the world. One such memory is of landing in London’s Heathrow Airport, when he accompanied his father to get permission from the Prime Minister to build the first airport in the UAE.
My Story shows how the development of the UAE, far from being achieved overnight, was the product of hard work, dedication and commitment to the country.
Enlightenment Now: The Case for Reason, Science, Humanism and Progress by Steven Pinker.
Pinker sets out 15 different measures of human well-being, using clear research to argue that we are living in the most peaceful time of human history despite what many might think. While Pinkers writes that “we will never have a perfect world,” he adds that “it would be dangerous to seek one. But there is no limit to the betterments we can attain if we continue to apply knowledge to enhance human flourishing.”
What is your favorite quote?

Where do you see the UAE and cryptocurrency in 5-10 years?
Sulaiman al Fahim: The United Arab Emirates is leaning towards cryptocurrency. On April 2-3 there was a Future Blockchain Summit in Dubai attended by representatives from 130 countries.
Recently the UAE and Saudi Arabia collaborated on the creation of a new cryptocurrency to facilitate transactions between the governments of the two nations.I am currently an advisor in ADAB Solutions, the First Islamic Crypto Exchange.
