Meet Vanky Kenny Kataria, A boy started his journey by losing 6 public speaking competitions in a row and then finally went onto represent India at the international level only to be left embarrassed in front of everyone.
Imagine a situation where you go onto the stage, give your best presentation in front of everyone hoping that most of them if not everyone likes it. And, The next thing you know is that you are marked as an ’embarrassment’ and called as one of the worst presenters and are asked to leave the stage without even being asked a single question in the Q&A session of the international competition.
This is exactly what happened with Vanky when after lot of difficulties, he went onto represent India for the first time. “Most of the people in the audience couldn’t stop smiling. Some of them were looking at me with their sympathetic eyes. And, I was left absolutely embarrassed when I came down the stage and felt completely devastated”, remembers Vanky.
Though, He was down and out and was experiencing one of the most embarrassing moments of his life,He didn’t give up. After the competition got over, He came back home and made a note of all the points which the judges had disliked about him. He started working on them everyday and started preparing for the next opportunity. He presented various number of times infront of his friends and teachers and asked from them about his shortcomings.Soon, Another opportunity to represent India was knocking at his door. This time, He went onto being a runner up of the competition which was held at the South Asian level and proved everyone wrong.
Today, Vanky is a visiting professor, an personal branding advisor and has been featured in Entrepreneur, BuzzFeed and Huffington Post for his work. He is the brand ambassador for India for the United Nations’ recognized ‘Host Your Voice’ and is a global expert for ‘Better Days Global’ an international platform which provides motivation to millions of people online.
