Ever since he was born, Jalal Ibrahimi has worked relentlessly towards his dreams. From the age of 13 to the present day, this entrepreneur has found numerous ways to tremendously impact other’s lives, while also piling his successes. Ever since he was born, Jalal was destined for greatness. Authentic, devoted and driven by his passion to create, Jalal will not stop until he gets to the top.
“When I was younger, what inspired me towards doing the things I did was longing for freedom. I never grew up with much at all, my family immigrated here so it’s like starting from scratch. I remember seeing that money was a way to buy a part of your freedom. So if there was something I wanted to buy, I would never ask my parents because I knew that they couldn’t afford it. But I also wanted to do it myself, I wanted to be able to do it myself. One of my biggest motivating factors is being able to give back to my family for everything that they’ve done for me and to be able to give them that freedom,” – Jalal.
Ascending from the roots of Kabul, Afghanistan, Jalal immigrated to Guelph, Ontario, Canada at the age of two to escape the outbreaking war in his home country. At the age of four, Jalal began taking martial arts classes. The people around him noticed his true potential, as they saw his tireless work ethic over the next four years of training transform him into the youngest person to earn their black belt in the province.
But he did not stop there. Jalal began to crave more than just sports achievements. Being a very curious and adventurous kid, Jalal was always thinking outside of the box. Unlike most typical 13-year-olds, he began to put himself to work, but in the most unique way possible.
“I had a few dollars saved up and the very first thing I invested in was one of those little blackberry curves. I bought it off a random person and my family was like ‘What are you doing?’ And I told them I had a good feeling about it. So I got my dad to drive me around and two hours later I ended up selling it to another person for more money. Ever since then, I ended up building a business where I would buy and sell almost anything, mostly technology, and I ended up being able to pay my entire way through high school and university just by doing that. I never held a job,” said Jalal during an interview.
Since this turning point in his life, Jalal knew the sky is the limit. Self-made from the start, he continues to constantly push every boundary with his creativity and entrepreneurial knowledge. In 2017, while finishing up his Bachelor’s Degree in accounting, the cryptocurrency industry caught his eye and sparked his interest. It was not long before Jalal made great strides in the business. Spending the next few months researching the market and studying the foundation it was built on, Jalal was inspired to take action on a new project.
Thus, the idea for his new app- “Ethos” was born. The social networking platform is designed to help individuals find things to do, meet up offline and create lasting connections. In 2018, Jalal was propelled to hop on a plane to Los Angeles, California, skipping his college graduation to make his vision come true. Partnering with his childhood friend, musical artist and entrepreneur Chris Goma, the two plan to release “Ethos” as a beta this Friday, September 11th.
Not only is he working on this app, but he also continues to build his marketing platform every single day. “The Viral Marketer”, a company made by Jalal to at first help market Goma’s music, has expanded to helping numerous other artists. Unlike many other people, Jalal wants to see his projects flourish for not only his own triumphs, but for others as well.
“I feel the need to, if I can and I know I’m capable of this one day, I know I’m still young, but I want to help as many people as I possibly can. Whether I make a million people smile or create some type of technology, if it’s something that can impact millions of people and improve their lives, that’s what I want to do. I want to have the biggest impact I can,” said Jalal.
Jalal is one of the most authentic and genuine entrepreneurs out there and there is no doubt he will leave his mark on the world. Even with the great achievements he has already made, there will definitely be more to come. Keep an eye out for the release of his new app “Ethos”- it will undeniably change many people’s lives for the better.
