Justin Mueller is a former lifeguard turned internet marketing influencer.
He started out selling iPhone cases, and has worked his way up to become financially independent with a revenue generating business from his smartphone and laptop.
Less thinking and more doing is his #1 motto in life
Being resourceful and maximizing every situation is a recurring trait in entrepreneurial greats and Justin exemplifies this.
I got a chance to sit with Justin and get an exclusive interview.
What city do you live in ?
Justin: Pompano Beach, Fl
What are some of your hobbies ?
Hobbies: Airsoft, video games, miniature golf, bowling
What is your favorite quote ?
Justin: I have two: “Less thinking and more doing” and “The simpler the better”.
What are you working on? How did you come up with this idea?
Justin: At this time, I’m working on my biggest (and most expensive) project yet. Simplora.com is a simple and professional website builder for $1/month, hosting included. Yes, you heard me correctly, $1/month to build and host your website, all in one easy to use interface. No need to download anything. I came up with this idea when I was building multiple websites online that cost me thousands of dollars in hosting fees.
As a complete beginner in the entrepreneur space, $1k-$2k/year was simply just too much for my wallet to handle, so I came up with a solution.
I created Simplora to help others save themselves from giving up an arm and a leg just to build a simple website and host it online. I basically made website building and hosting easy, and affordable for everyone.
How is your company different?
Justin: My company is different mainly because of our price. You literally cannot beat $1/month for a website with unlimited hosting.
We do have fast email support and you can expect a reply within 5-10 hours if you encounter any issues.
That’s almost unheard of nowadays.
What is your dream ?
Justin: My dream is to help budding entrepreneurs get an understanding of effective branding. It all starts with your appearance to society.
You cannot have others buy into your dream looking like a nightmare, and that especially matters for your website.
How do you creatively advertise?
Justin: Social media influencers! If you’re not using them by now, you are living under a rock. Influencers hold the key to getting your message directly on the screens of millennials, and basically anyone with a Facebook, Instagram, SnapChat, Youtube account etc…
Who was your biggest mentor that helped you see success in the beginning of your entrepreneurial journey?
Justin: No one. At this point I have not had a mentor figure guiding me and giving me direction on what to do. I have attended online seminars here and there to get an understanding of what others were doing, but I just went 100% into doing what I knew best, and that is video.
I mastered my craft through trial and error. That is the best way to learn in my opinion. Be in the trenches and get your hands dirty !
What was your biggest failure and biggest success? What did you learn from them ?
Justin: My biggest failure so far would definitely be losing $10k in the financial markets. That shi&%s no joke. It can seriously ruin your life if you let it take control of you, like anything else. Yet over time, I’ve learned the proper risk management techniques and what not to do when investing. I’ve received 1-on-1 mentorship from a millionaire trader, and that has elevated my trading game 10 fold, so I’m back on track when it comes to my investments.
My biggest success would definitely be not giving up. Simplora is great, my internet businesses are booming, but I wouldn’t be where I am today if it wasn’t for my determination and listening to myself when everyone else told me I was a lost cause. It’ll always hurt hearing those words come from the people closest to you in life, but you need to hear it in order to understand that they’re the toxic people you need to separate yourself from. It’s going to happen sooner or later, so you’d might as well find like minded people to hang out with in the beginning of your journey and only spend time with them. It’ll save you years of headache in the future.
What is the best advice you can give to other entrepreneurs who are looking to succeed ?
Justin: Stop thinking about what you’re going to do and just do it. Ideas are great, but without execution they’re just ideas floating in your head. Get your butt off the couch and show your idea to the world. If success is really that important to you, you’d probably never spend time watching tv again, until you’ve “made it”. I know that sounds cliche, but I believe in simplicity, because the simpler you keep things, the more money you will make 100% guaranteed. There is no “secret” to making millions, just doing what most people wouldn’t.
What is something actionable that you can teach us right now ?
Justin: Affiliate marketing is probably the simplest thing you’ll ever do in your life (but definitely not easy). It’s simple, refer someone to buy a product and you get a commission. Now how do you get people to listen to you? You drive attention to yourself. Constantly spamming your products on Facebook won’t get you anywhere. I call it “the value game”. The person that gives the most value, makes the most money. Example: Make a video titled “How to make $1,000 this month guaranteed” and talk about how you can get couches on craigslist for FREE, and flip them for $300. You can then use that value as a way to upsell your viewers on a $5 ebook you wrote about “how to make money investing in real estate.” Make sense? You’re using your knowledge (that most people don’t have on your specialty), and leveraging that to drive traffic to your product. This is why you see people creating free live workshops for you to attend. They’ll give you some amazing free info on how to perform a certain task, then they’ll let you know how to do it 10x easier with their product you can buy for $1,000,
What’s something new you’ve learned in the past month?
Justin: No matter how low-cost your product is, there will always be someone who can’t afford it. I never would have thought that someone wouldn’t be able to afford a website for $1/month, but I was wrong. Just make sure that you never adjust the cost of your product in order to meet the needs of others. You know the value of your product better than anyone else.
Share with us something we don’t know ?
Justin: Something you don’t know, is that I don’t know anymore than you (the reader). You don’t need to know a golden secret to make it big in life, you just need to stay one step ahead of everyone else, and they’ll always pay you for your knowledge 🙂
What do you think you do better than most people?
Justin: Getting attention. I used to never get attention from people in school, so that helped me become creative in my video marketing. I’m able to express myself on camera in such a way where I’m naturally able to get people to listen to my side of every story I tell. Making videos that sell an idea or product isn’t easy for most people. It comes natural to me. Yet I found a way where anyone can do it flawlessly, they just need to first believe in themselves. It all starts with understanding that I’m no different than you, I just thought less and did more.
What should an entrepreneur focus on?
Justin: Every entrepreneur should focus on mastering one thing. Stop focusing so much time on things you’re terrible at and become world class in what you already know. Example: I do video marketing full time. I got into the video creation space because I had a knack for film production. I found a skill set I already had, and went 100% into it. I’m not here to master bing ads, I know my space..
What are some of the best books you’ve ever read?
Justin: Drop Out And Get Schooled, The Power Of Broke, Dorm Room To Millionaire.
Where do you see yourself and your product in a couple years?
Justin: I see myself competing with other major companies in my space. I’m just a baby now, but babies grow fast 😉
