HighKey Technology Inc is an e-commerce company that was started over three years ago with futuristic technology and marketing in mind. Creators, Jordan Lintz and Luke Lintz, have managed to accumulate over 250k on Instagram with loyal, engaging fans and surpassed $1M in revenue at the end of 2018 and are climbing towards the $3M mark. They focus on using a combination of influencer content and their own content, such as humorous skits with lowkey product placement.
The owners of HighKey Technology Inc, Jordan Lintz (@jordanlintz) and Luke Lintz (@lukelintz), have always been fascinated with the internet and developing themselves in every aspect of life.
“We started the company by releasing Wireless Earbuds which came from the idea of hating corded earbuds and wanting something better. We are now on our 3rd model of Wireless Earbuds which is easily the best piece of technology that we have crafted so far! We’ve always been a fan of video creation and drawing mass attention with engaging comedic content. Our love for this content led us to make themed videos focusing on our products,” they say.
Now their Instagram page has accumulated 15-20 million total views, with their highest viewed video being over 2M.
Jordan and Luke always loved watching the content of other influencers across social media and believed that they had the enthusiasm and personalities to develop themselves as influencers. “We entered the consumer technology space how any great business starts… we were the consumer of our own product. We wanted completely wireless earbuds to have better workouts, runs, and overall listening experience. That is why we created our first version of Wireless Earbuds,” they share.
The biggest challenge they faced for their e-commerce company was inventory management towards the holiday season.
“During the holidays we double our total revenue so accounting for the influx in purchases can be difficult with having to factor for production lead times etc,” they share.
Another massive challenge that they faced was product-market fit, this is the ability to judge and forecast whether a product will have the demand that you anticipated. They struggled with honing this skill and had to learn the hard way, through trial and error.
Their advice for those looking to start their own business is to make sure it’s for the right reasons.
“Don’t start something because you think you are going to make a lot of money! While that is great and a very important part of a successful business, it should not be the reason you are starting something up,” they say. They believe you should find something you’re passionate about and wouldn’t mind investing your time into regardless of making money or not. “If you love what you do and are good at it… The money will come,” they stress.
Since forming HighKey Technology Inc., they have started a social media agency (HighKey Agency Inc.) that has grown to six figures within six months, with mainly real estate clients. Their third company is forming under the name HighKey Clout where they plan to run large growth campaigns and manage influencers.
Jordan and Luke Lintz have plans of taking HighKey Technology Inc. all the way up to an Initial Public Offering. They are committed to the process and work hard in order to accomplish their high standards. They plan on revolutionizing the future of social media and the internet.
