Quinton Heck grew up in what seemed from the outside as an average, middle class family. But, his family was in fact far from ordinary and he owes a lot of his success today to them. His close knit family constantly drove him to strive for success, and supported him every step of the way. Because of this, he was a three sport athlete in high school and even won a state championship in football his senior year.
After high school, Heck was accepted into the United States Merchant Marine Academy where he would continue his studies and play baseball. As part of his training, Heck has had to spend 210 days aboard three different US vessels to meet the requirements for graduation. It was on board the vessel that he was introduced to the book Rich Dad Poor Dad, and this is where everything would change for him. After finishing the book in just one day, his love for entrepreneurship and making money work for him was born.
Because of the influence the book had on him, he pursued a venture in ecommerce and was all in on becoming a successful entrepreneur. While it would take him several failed attempts and a few years to become successful, the discipline and work ethic he learned in the Merchant Marine Academy and in his home growing up gave him the willpower to continue working hard at it.
Crazily enough, those closest to him didn’t share Heck’s vision, saying that ecommerce “won’t be able to make enough money” and that he “needs to get a normal job.” Regardless of what anyone told him, he continued pushing until he became profitable. Now, he’s had friends asking him how to set up an ecommerce store after seeing the recent success he’s had with it.
Heck has already learned more about perseverance and work ethic than most people will in their entire lives, and he’s looking to apply these abilities to his next venture. He’s planning to launch a creative agency this fall, something that will allow him to work at his passion for photography and videography.
His goal is to create a small team of fellow creators who share similar interests as him, such as photography, videography, website development, marketing, and ecommerce. This way, they’ll be able to professionally assist other companies with their skills and expertise. Regardless of the direction he decides to take with the company, it’s certain that Heck will make it a massive success and a name to be reckoned with in the industry.
