Instagram releases new tabs and features inscribed to Reels, Facebook, and Shopping to catch up with Tiktok’s influence. The company redesigned and tested out a new layout for the app that would promote some of Instagram’s bravoed features. It includes newly improved Shopping support tabs and Reels and Facebook’s clone to catch up with Tiktok.
The new design in the Instagram head would have three options for the horizontal menu. Including two new tabs that would replace existing icons or will replace another icon onto the bar. Instagram will also add shopping features to its IGTV, starting on Monday. Facebook will start testing shopping through its brief appearance or video feature with Reels within this year.
In previous years, Facebook has been weaving more shopping features on Instagram. Recently, they tested an attached “shop” tab on its home screen last summer. Where users can already shop through regular Instagram posts, live, store, and searching feed.
On the other hand, adding new shopping features to Reels is a quick rollout since it was launched two months ago. Still, adding the shopping feature to Instagram could give the company a rival on Tiktok.
The new features have invested time and change this year to rival Tiktok’s short-form video model’s massive success. The format to Reels was just released globally in August on the center stage platform. It offers music-based features and mashed together clips.
Meanwhile, the Shopping tab would assist as a powerhouse for the app’s electronic commerce feature to allow businesses and entrepreneurs to sell products through their profiles. Expanding the shopping features to the home page would permit Instagram to emphasize attracting retail businesses and influencers. On the platform selling merchandise, artwork, and other products.
Even the Reels have similarities to Tiktok’s features and facing different kinds of chaos; the app will not be banned in the U.S. The recent survey from content company Whistles shows that 87% of the Tiktok users told Reels was the same from Tiktok.
Instagram has also loosened restrictions on Shopping in July to allow all users with businesses to turn their profile into prof. On Monday, it will lend to creators and brands who want to monetize their efforts on the app routinely.
