You can have influence on social media no matter the size of your following. However, you can still have that influencer effect on your audience. The assumption that you need to have tens of thousands followers on Instagram to scale and sell on social media is false. Followers do not equal sales.
Entrepreneur and business coach, Isabella Sanchez, says: “So, there’s this girl you follow on IG who just sells out all of her programs without even trying. She literally breathes and makes sales, plus everyone raves about her. And you think: ‘how the F does she do it? Everything she touches turns into gold’…this is what I call the influencer effect.”
Sanchez describes this effect as the ability to become magnetic, connecting deeply through showing who you are beyond your business, and telling your story effectively.
The business coach explains that it’s a specific way of being vulnerable and authentic without tanking your authority. You need to connect with your audience like an influencer, and make sales as an entrepreneur.
Sanchez tells us, “For so long I struggled with finding the perfect balance of a powerful brand that’s authentic AF without sinking my authority. I’ve actually experienced both sides of the coin. 30,000 subscribers on YouTube of raving fans (literally had people creating fan accounts on Twitter), but ZERO sales.
“I then figured out the sales piece but was now missing a deep connection and powerful community of raving fans. This balance is the secret to your coaching business blowing up.
And it’s what led to my half a million brand and only working with my IDEAL clients.”
“The influencer effect is not just for extroverts”
Sanchez gave us her top tips on how you can manifest this too by being true to who you are.
1. GET CLEAR ON YOUR CONTENT PILLARS
Have you ever noticed that coaches you admire online are always talking about the same thing over and over again but they’re never boring? This is exactly how a powerful personal brand that consistently brings in sales is built. Make a list of all the problems your
ideal client has and then write solutions to each one. Condense that information into 3-5 main topics. For me those are entrepreneurial mindset, building a magnetic and profitable personal brand as a coach, and high-ticket sales.
2. SHARE THINGS ABOUT YOURSELF
This doesn’t mean you have to talk about your personal details and air your dirty laundry online. And there is definitely no need for a crying selfie also. This means that people buy from people they like so start sharing things about you beyond your business. What you think is boring can be such a powerful connection point with someone, and this can change your business forever. For example, the first interaction I had with one of my mentors was because she posted about Harry Potter. A couple weeks later I was enrolled in her $15,000 mastermind
3. ACT LIKE AN INFLUENCER
People are drawn to confidence, period. You can be confident with any type of personality. Confidence is not just loud bubbly. Confidence is having certainty in who you are and what you bring to the table as a coach, beyond your expertise. To build influence as an “influencer” BUT make massive sales in your business at the same time, you have to show up as the badass confident CEO you are BEFORE you get there. People who make massive sales in their business show up with an “I’ve made it” energy and there’s nothing more magnetizing than that.
