In the 2016 presidential campaign, most Americans were shocked by how the presidential hopeful Donald Trump criticized his opponents. The words he used are quite colorful but at the same time demoralizing.
Since then and up until now, he continually hurls insults and rude and distasteful commentaries to other people. Someone created a Wikipedia page solely to list all the offensive nicknames, insults, and disrespectful comments he made. There are also other websites detailing defamations made by the POTUS.
However, the 45th President of the United States of America is back at it again. Now, he turns his attention to Dr. Fauci and CNN by calling them names. The remarks were made last Monday during his campaign rally in Prescott, Arizona. Let’s tackle each rude comment individually.
First, Trump exclaimed that CNN is full of “dumb bastards” because they only cover “COVID, COVID, pandemic, COVID, COVID …” He also suggested why the TV network only broadcast COVID-related news.
“You know why? They’re trying to talk people out of voting. People aren’t buying it, CNN…”
President Donald Trump
NowThis tweeted a video where people at the campaign rally can be heard screaming and cheering due to the remark.
Second, POTUS told the people at the campaign rally that Dr. Anthony Fauci is a “disaster.” He also said to them that if he took Fauci’s advice, America would have 500,000 deaths.
“People are tired of hearing Fauci and all these idiots.”
President Tump
Although he said that Dr. Fauci is a “nice man,” he quickly put another jib in and said, “he’s been here for 500 years.”
A quick background, Dr. Anthony Fauci is the Director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID). He is also a member of the White House’s Coronavirus Task Force. He has been overseeing the institute for almost 40 years and served and advised every President, Republican or Democrat. However, Trump has neglected Dr. Fauci’s plea is to take the coronavirus more seriously.
Before speaking at the campaign rally, Trump stated that he was thinking of firing Fauci. He added that it would be “a bigger bomb if you fire him.”
“[Fauci is] the best tool we have to keep Americans safe.”
Joe Biden
Many had defended Dr. Fauci from the negative comments made by President Trump.
“[Dr. Fauci’s] one of our country’s most distinguished public servants.”
Senator Lamar Alexander Tweeted
Dr. Anthony Fauci also somehow responded to Trump’s remark, saying that some parts of our society’s “disturbing anti-science.”
