âStrength and growth come only through continuous effort and struggle.â
What are you working on?
Currently I am working on my marketing business where I help business owners and entrepreneurs engage with their audience and make more profit, without hurting their bottom line.
I also just started a podcast for Mental Health where we talk about serious issues and topics to help people dealing with the struggles of mental health, while fighting to change the stigma surrounding the topic.
How did you come up with this idea?
I came up with the idea by simply seeing a need within my own city of Winnipeg, and realizing that a lot of people needed help with their online marketing.
My city is fairly new to the concept of online marketing, so I wanted to be able to help people gain more clients and sales for their business in the new age of social media.
How is your company different?
We strive for results and bringing as much value to the marketplace as possible. We work with our clients from beginning to end to help them gain the results theyâre looking for, for their business.
We focus on creating powerful content that is engaging for our clients customers, and focusing on data that will further help our clients to understand their audience, their online presence and how they can connect with their clients and customers while not spending more than needed on their ad spend.
Whatâs your dream with your company?
To help as many business owners and entrepreneurs create successful companies as possible, while bringing more value and creative work than anyone in the industry.
How do you creatively advertise?
We focus on value filled content that can give our audience the ability to learn as much as possible about the online marketing world.
We focus on written and video format content to share free value to our audience.
What has been the most challenging thing you have had to deal with as an entrepreneur?
Coming to the realization that not everyone has your back, and not everyone is going to support your crazy dreams. I had to realize early on that youâre going to piss off a lot of people with your ambition and goals, and most people are going to turn their backs on you, while making fun of you in the process.
I learned right away how lonely being an ambitious person really is.
What were your biggest failure and biggest success? What did you learn from them?
My biggest failure came when I tried starting my first company, it was going to be a coaching service for those looking to write and publish their first book, it did not workout so well. My biggest success was when I became a best selling author after only a few days of my first book being published.
I learned to take the good with the bad, and take the âfailuresâ in life as opportunities to learn and grow, I have learned that if you are not failing every once in awhile, you arenât trying hard enough.
Give the readers the best entrepreneurship advice you have ..
Whenever you are met with criticism, doubt, or people that down right hate you for what you do, keep going. Most people will never understand why you do what you do, and will think of you as a fool, or a loser until you prove them otherwise.
Focus on bringing as much value to what you do, and be as humble as you can through the process. Other peopleâs opinions of you do not dictate who you are or who you will become.
Teach us something that we can implement right now .. (must be actionable)
Know Your Audience!
When putting together your ad campaigns on social media, or in general, you HAVE to know who your target audience is!
Why?
Because otherwise itâs like throwing money down the drain!
Marketing is a mixture of strategic planning, and executing correctly in order to hit the right audience in the right way
For those of you having a hard time figuring out their audience for Facebook Ads, hereâs some tips:
1) Go to the âaudience insightsâ section in your ads manager.
Here youâll be able to find out everything you need to know about your audience
2) Start looking at their interests, age range, gender, income, other pages they may like similar to your product or service
This information will give you insights into who your ideal audience is so you can determine the strategy to properly target them with Facebook ads.
3) Create a custom audience from 250k-1M and make sure youâre as specific as possible with your targeting
There are strategies that target less than this amount, and strategies that target more than this amount. This is an acceptable range for your initial ad campaign to collect data.
4) Save the audience and use it for your ad set in your campaign
The best thing to do is keep your audience numbers very specific, never too broad (unless youâre trying to get views and engagement, thatâs a different story)
Make sure you understand your audience inside and out and target them specifically to their interests.
From here, experiment and see what works, use $5 a day ads to start, this will be just enough to figure out what your audience reacts to. Once you figure out your sweet spot, scale to more ad spend per day!
Whatâs something new youâve learned in the past month?
Using retargeting ads and follow up emails can be life savers for E-commerce stores looking to keep their audience engaged with their store, without having to continue to pay for new, cold traffic.
What is something that most people do not do well and they should be?
Telling your story and being as transparent as possible with your audience is key to creating long lasting relationships, and a following of people who really want to support what you do.
Whenever I am asked about my past, I share my story in whatever detail people are interested in hearing. I donât want to come off as though Iâm perfect and always have been.
I have made plenty of mistakes and made a fool of myself just like anyone else, and I have learned enough from those experiences to help others not do the same things.By sharing your pain, you give other people strength in knowing that they arenât alone in their struggle.
In the new age of entrepreneurship, it is more important than ever to be transparent and honest with those who follow you, if you try to boost yourself up and make yourself sound like youâre perfect in everything you do, youâll never sustain yourself, whether in life or in business.
What do you think you do better than most people?
I have a very creative mind when it comes to video content, and can put together entire video concepts just by hearing the theme of content.
I can envision how things need to be shot, what needs to be said, and what may work best for the content to make sure itâs an engaging video to watch.
What should an entrepreneur focus on?
Focus on bettering themselves everyday in their craft. Study everything you can to have a understanding that is so in depth, whatever question is thrown your way on the topic, you can answer confidently.
Keep your mindset focused and positive, donât let outside influences try to take you away from the things that will create a better life and business for yourself now, and in the future.
What are some of the best books youâve ever read?
Influence: The Psychology of Persuasion by Robert Cialdini
Expert Secrets by Russell Brunson
Where do you see yourself and your product in a couple years?
I us becoming a 7 figure business helping coach and consult businesses on their marketing around the world, as well as expanding into our own media company creating high quality content for clients to get the best results possible for their campaigns.
I myself hope to have a few successful businesses under my belt, be able to say I have spoken all over the world to hundreds of thousands of people, publish a few more books, and have a happy healthy family.
