For all of us who are drivers, we know how important a tow truck can be or even the fact that they would be available to help. This sense of security is crucial to us drivers to know that if we were to get into auto trouble, there would be someone to help us out. Jose Cardona has been able to make a business doing just that; by being the person that helps out thousands of people across New York.
“In 2001, my entrepreneurial spirit gave me the confidence to start my own towing company called No Limit Towing and Transport. I began by purchasing one tow truck and within five years through hard work and dedication, I would go on to own a fleet of 13 tow trucks becoming one of the largest tow truck companies in New York by the age of 28.” Says Jose.
Jose’s journey did not start off easily. He had to convince people to trust in his brand and invest in him, so he could get his business off the ground. He stuck by his business even when he lacked the belief of others because he knew that this was something he wanted to do. He recommends that people starting a business should be persistent
“Mindset is extremely important, you have to be focused and determined. You have to want it more than anything else in your life in order to be successful. When starting a business you have to have a few things in place: a strong thought out plan, capital to execute the plan, willingness to put all other distractions and temptations on hold, and persistence.” Advises Jose.
Because of his ability to stick to his goals, Jose was able to achieve massive success for his towing business. In addition to his towing company, he now runs an Auto Body shop. He has been well recognized in all of New York as an incredible business owner and company both for his success and for his willingness to give back to the community.
“With my business expanding and my brand “No Limit” gaining popularity, the thoughts of franchising and branding started to evolve. I was entertaining the idea of expanding into the 5 boroughs,so I opened up my first franchise location in Queens Village, NY. This location quickly became very successful thus promoting the opening of other No Limit franchises. Currently, my brand No Limit Auto Body has the most body shop locations under one name in New York with a total of 8 and growing. I also have a strong interest in giving back to the community. I have been involved in Thanksgiving turkey drives; coat and bookbag drives, and taking time to feed the homeless. I have also been involved in response relief efforts such as organizing a food station where he provided and served hot meals for families affected by hurricane Sandy in Long Beach, NY. When Hurricane Maria devastated the Island of Puerto Rico, I decided to close one of his facilities for a week to make it a headquarters for donations.” Explains Jose.
In 2018, Jose was recognized by his community for being businessman of the year as well as being acknowledged for all of his contributions to the community and business successes. He hopes that this success will launch him further and allow him to expand his business into other states such as California and Florida.
“In 2001, I started my business. I always knew I was going to run a business of my own. Presently I am entertaining offers to open up locations from California to Florida.” States Jose.
