Tim Da Jewler is the head designer behind TSV Jewelers, a jewelry design company that specializes in creating a wide range of men’s jewelry. While Tim has extensive expertise, his primary focus is on custom hip hop jewelry necklaces, earrings, and chains.
Tim is originally from Pittsburgh, California. This was where he first got introduced to jewelry, more specifically; he learned about jewelry aesthetic during a period that was referred to as The Hyphy Movement. “At the time I was working in insurance, but I didn’t have a real passion for it, my passion was in jewelry.” Those passions led Tim to buy and sell wholesale jewelry. Eventually, he began studying the craft so that he could design his own custom pieces.
Although the craft taught Tim about the aesthetics of jewelry design, the true gem was learning more about the different types of stones that were available for use. Today, Tim and his team work with a variety of stones including, CZ stones, lab simulated diamonds, real diamonds, moissanite, natural VS, VVS and more. This diversity has enabled them to develop a unique approach that caters to a wider range of budgets. “Jewelry is about making people feel and look good, I wouldn’t want to deny that feeling to someone because of their budget.” As a result, Tim works with budgets ranging from hundreds of dollars to hundreds of thousands.
One of Tim’s future goals is to serve more clients across the country. From the start, he built TSV as a fully digital operation, enabling him to service clients anywhere around the world. “Being fully digital has given me a lot of flexibility in terms of servicing my clients, it’s also helped me to avoid certain overhead costs.” As a black jeweler, Tim also wants to serve as a role model for others, showing them that they too can be more than just consumers.
