You’re heading out on your next travel adventure. You’ve packed your bags and you’re about to catch your ride to the airport. Before ordering your Uber, you open up another app and arrange a pick-up for your bags.
A driver arrives at your house, seals your suitcase in a tamper-proof cover and takes it off your hands. Now you’re free to skip the baggage check line and stroll through the airport unencumbered.
When you arrive at your destination, everyone else on your flight huddles around the baggage carousel waiting for their bags. As they watch the conveyor belt go round and round in a jetlagged stupor, you’re confidently striding out the door. (After gathering more than a few jealous looks.)
You hit the town, see a few sights, grab a coffee and then head to your hotel. When you arrive, your suitcase is there to greet you – and you never had to lift or drag it once.
Sounds pretty great, right?
This type of personal luggage delivery service sounds like something luxurious that would cost travelers an arm and a leg. However, traveling hands-free is a VIP experience that is much more affordable than you might think.
BringIt is an East Coast based startup that is bringing luggage delivery to the masses. They offer a service that will bring your luggage from your home to your hotel, so that you can travel without having to drag your heavy bags behind you.
For $25, you can send up to two pieces of luggage within a certain radius to and from the airport. (If you are heading further away, the fee is $1 per mile.) The luggage arrives on the same day and is delivered to your hotel within 4 hours of your flight arrival.
Just Like Uber – For Your Bags
BringIt’s founder Israel Arellano has a vision for a future of travel. His aim is to work toward a future where hands-free travel is the accepted standard, so everyone can see the world without their bags slowing them down. This is why BringIt has such an affordable price – so that it can be used by all types of travelers.
He compares this travel revolution to elevators. When they were first introduced to the market they were novel and people had to pay to use them. Now, elevators are part of our daily lives and we use them every day. One day, the same might happen for luggage delivery services.
BringIt uses a team of drivers, similar to the way Uber works. Drivers set their own hours and accept jobs as they are requested. You might even say the job is easier – after all there’s no need to make small talk with a suitcase.
Powered by a smart, easy to use app, travelers can request the service in a few easy steps. The app also has a number of security features, including GPS tracking that allows users to see exactly where their bags are.
For those who are tired of lugging a heavy suitcase behind them in the airport and wasting precious vacation time picking up their bags, the development of an innovation like BringIt is a sign of a very bright travel future.
