Dr. Alexis Parcells is a board-certified plastic surgeon, a wife, and mother of two young daughters. Her passion has always been to advocate for women’s health and empowerment. She specializes in breast and body cosmetic surgery such as breast lifts, breast augmentation, mommy makeover, tummy tuck, liposuction, and labiaplasty. She also performs breast reconstruction. Aside from her surgical expertise and prowess, she also has a skincare studio called SUNNIE. The services of the skincare studio include Botox, fillers, and CO2 laser to protect and correct fine lines and sun damage. She also offers clean medical-grade skincare products like SPF, cleanser, eye cream, and correctible creams.
Having a father who is a physician, Dr. Parcells grew up knowing she wanted to help others. She became interested in plastic surgery through her volunteer work with Operation Smile. She went on her first medical mission at the age of 16 to Morocco. While at the mission, she witnessed the lives of children and their families changed with a simple 1-hour medical operation. Ever since then, Dr. Alexis has become passionate about enacting that type of change in the lives of future patients and focused her studies on a career in medicine.
She studied at St. George’s University in Grenada along with many US and international medical students. Upon her graduation, she matched into the Plastic Surgery residency program. In the course of her practice, she realized how much she enjoyed treating the members of her community (just as her father had while she was growing up). She focused her practice on breast reconstruction and aesthetics (cosmetic surgery). She has since expanded her practice to other areas with the same goal of empowering all her patients to make positive changes in their lives.
Part of her mission is to change the stigma of plastic surgery. She wants women to feel empowered and not guilty or ashamed of their choice to have Botox treatment or breast lift. Creating a culture of self-love and positivity is one of her main goals as a plastic surgeon.
During the Covid-19 pandemic, Dr. Alexis opened her own private practice. She had to learn how to build a business from scratch. She states, “If you wish to achieve anything worthwhile, you will have to step outside your comfort zone.”
In addition to her cosmetic procedures, Dr. Parcells is passionate about her breast cancer patients. She treats women with breast cancer from all walks of life and is currently involved with several breast cancer organizations and serves on boards and foundations.
