Why did you decide to become an entrepreneur?
Guillaume Godbout: I decided to become an entrepreneur because I always want to be self-sufficient and be free to exploit my own ideas. As an entrepreneur, I can devote my time and energy to developing projects that I am passionate about. I also have the ability to set my own hours of work. Moreover, I am an awful employee ! I like to do things my own way! :).
Who were your biggest influences? Was there a defining moment in your life?
Guillaume Godbout: Michael Jordan is one of my biggest influences because he is the best basketball player and he had a great impact on society. He changed the people’s perspective on basketball. He was relentless.
Sam Ovens is also one of my biggest influences. He was my first mentor in the digital world. He helped me a lot to focus my energies on the things that really matters for growing a business.
Michael E. Gerber, the author of The E-myth is also one of my biggest influence. His book teach me how I can accelerate my learning curve by giving me insight, processes and tools to become a successful entrepreneur.

What are you working on? How did you come up with this idea? How is your product/service different and unique? What’s the vision? Who are your customers? How do you find them?
Guillaume Godbout: I help business owners to attract new customers through different web strategies. As an entrepreneur, I know how much better visibility on the Web, greater traffic, and the presence of qualified visitors are critical to the success of a business, but more importantly, how challenging small and medium enterprises. But most of the time, companies do not focus their energies on the right elements, that is, those that aim to make their business profitable. They focus on secondary items such as design or number of page views instead of focusing on leads, sales and profit. My strategy is to attract qualified leads to small and medium-sized businesses so that they never need to worry about attracting new customers. From now on, they will come to them.
Whether you are in Montreal, Quebec City, Paris, New York or elsewhere, these innovative techniques allow companies to have a steady stream of bid solicitations, appointments or incoming calls.
Did you experience failure along the way? What did you learn from it?
Guillaume Godbout: Of course I did not always get the results I hoped for. I have experienced failures, but they have been temporary, since I learned a lot from them. I had the opportunity to take over and do better. Here are my two tips, when you live a failure.
1 – Whenever you fail, rather than complaining about the outcome, try to understand why you did not get the results you were hoping for. Once you understand, change your behavior. In this way you will get other results. Remember that failure is a temporary result, it becomes a permanent result only when you stop trying.
2- Make your decisions based on the data you have. Do not let your emotions or your faith dictate your actions. You have to rely on numbers.
