Cathy Bethea loves helping people. She is a connector. She is able to connect the dots with all of her different experiences throughout her lifetime. She has a strong background in the financial and real estate industry. She is now working with a company that helps her blend her background and herself as a professional entrepreneur.
Cathy is a real estate agent. Prior to that field, she specialized in first time home-buyers. She worked primarily with the builders, and advocated for her clients, figuring out what type of home is best for them and their needs. She was able to blend her experience in the financial field as a mortgage broker to help her clients during this difficult process.
She had been working in the financial industry since 2000. She was pushing real estate, until she met FES four years ago after meeting countless clients who she could not get approved due to credit challenges. Having a background in corporate america, she constantly asked herself, “How can we help people more? People that are turned down everyday because they couldn’t get their credit approved”.
What makes her different from others in this field, according to her clients, is that she is extremely knowledgeable in her line of work. she just doesn’t stop at being a realtor and broker, she has a wealth of information that makes her standout.
“People are going to be attracted to you for what you bring to the table, and that has always been very important to me,” she shares.
Her motivation to get into this line of work came from her mother. Her mother was a sales agent, and when she Cathy was 4 or 5 she began to watch her mother, and eventually help her work. This is where her entrepreneurial side came from. She gives all the credit to her mother. As time progressed she has always remained in sales.
Her advice for those trying to start their business is to do their homework.
“Make sure you really know what you’re getting into, research it. Give it some time before you jump in. Go over the blueprint in your mind because you’ll need this to get you through the ups and downs of a business,” she says.
Cathy’s definition of success is being able to truly live, provide for her family, and be totally happy with her accomplishments. Today, she can proudly say that she’s been able to accomplish that and much more.
