As time continues we will see social media become more relevant in today’s society. Even right this very moment there is an epidemic of people addicted to social media, or just their phones in general.
Why? Because it eliminates the worry of insecurities, or mistakes of real human interaction. Social media has created a gateway to addiction by allowing us to achieve ‘status’ on these platforms by our follow count. Based on the previous statements there may be a negative connotation towards social media. In reality, there are just as many pros as there are cons; it’s about finding them that matters.
“Social media is not a media. The key is to listen, engage, and build relationships.”
– David Alston
Our perspective of social media depends on a few things, our use for it, our experience with it, and our immediate reaction to certain events that occur on it. The world tends to focus on the negative aspects of social media which can influence the opinions of others. Personal branding, marketing, eCommerce in general would all be much more difficult, and much less rewarding if social media did not exist. It also creates room for opportunities which leads on to success stories. Everything you do leads onto something else. Finding purpose behind it will determine your opinion, or outcome with it.
As humans in 2019, we live in a society where entrepreneurship is trending; it is also more beneficial then it has ever been before. With social media at the tip of your fingers, utilizing it to build a brand, create an influencer page, or the many other things social media can do for you will create multitudes of life-changing opportunities.
