“Learn to be comfortable connecting with other people and putting your face, contact information, and what you do out there. LinkedIn is one of the best platforms to showcase your expertise, so do it and take advantage of it! Lastly, be very conscious about keywords — think if the words you use is something your target market is using when they’re looking for your services.” Lyra narrates.
Lyra has been spending her time building The Homebased worker and has created an amazing platform designed for overworked business owners seeking some backend help.
The Homebased worker had first originated as an idea for a blog, little did Lyra know was that it would one day become a successful business. Lyra had been bouncing some ideas around thinking of a good name for what she wanted to do when she came up with the domain name thehomebasedworker.com. She had told herself she would create a blog with it in the future researching and building resources on how she could work online. Lyra began reaching out to previous colleagues, clients, family, and friends telling them about her newest business thehomebasedworker.com!
“What had first started as a small idea to start a blog has now become an even larger endeavor, a business!” Lyra recaps.
With just a business name and an idea, Lyra needed to figure out how to brand herself as The Homebased Worker. She started building her idea of The Homebased Worker around her passion for digital business management specializing in female entrepreneurs and business coaches naming herself an “Online Business Manager”.
“And together, we help more entrepreneurs thrive.” Lyra Expresses.
Lyra was most motivated to work with new entrepreneurs who needed help and either didn’t yet have the budget to hire part-time and full-time employees or enough of a workload to be able to outsource their work. These businesses needed 15-20 hours of support each month to help them manage their business. I was their right hand man from managing aspects of their business to ensuring that their growth kept climbing.
Lyra often promoted her company in the early days why connecting through Instagram and client recommendations. She recounts that, “the first few clients were the hardest” because of the platform’s oversaturation in the business. Oftentimes she would engage with business coaches on Instagram and LinkedIn to start building her personal connections.
“The key is to know your audience, what kind of profiles they have, what’s in their bio, what do they call themselves, and to genuinely engage with them.” Lyra recounts.
Building a relationship by comment on the photo of their dog, asking questions, taking an interest in what they do. By allowing people to talk about themselves, you’re creating a space that they enjoy and want to keep engaging.
“Really listen, find what they need and when you find a gap put yourself in, that’s where you strike.” Lyra details.
Making sure to communicate just about everything with her clients, from updates, to documentations, and always overdelivering whenever possible. She found that when she had sparkling reviews she would receive more and more clients. With all the extra work on her plate, finding ways to outsource some of her work was vital for the survival of The Homebased Worker.
“My clients know that they can always rely on me and they can sleep at night peacefully knowing that things are being taken care of,” Lyra explains.
One skill that Lyra has really honed in on since starting The Homebased Worker is the ability to problem solve. Sometimes people or business owners get stuck on a problem within their business and cant figure out what to do. That is where Lyra comes in, she is always needing to come up with ways to be creative about resolving an issue and that is why her clients love her.
“I wanted these driven people to be on my team and help them keep their financial independence even if they’re working from home.” Lyra mentions.
With big dreams in place for The Homebased Worker, Lyra works to ensure its success. Her expertise and incredible abilities will surely lead her businesses to infinity and beyond. And with her team of experts right behind her, they have the capability to help those business owners in need.
