The Cannabis Industry: Present and Future
The cannabis market has grown exponentially in the past few years, but when put in perspective, is still in its infant stages.
The end of prohibition is coming closer than most people realize, with 36 states already decriminalizing Cannabis, and more than 11 states fully legalizing the plant for recreational and medicinal purposes. Virtually all stakeholders, from the private sector to Wall Street to politicians are all rooting for the end of prohibition.
We at Solar Cultivation Technologies, Inc. (SCT) have been studying the Cannabis industry for many years and tracked all industry developments and capital markets as related to Cannabis and have come to the (documented) conclusion that the Cannabis industry will soon become one of the biggest industries on the planet.
Cannabis products will disrupt multiple multi-billion-dollar industries in the US and the world, such as medicine, pharmaceuticals, wellness and beauty, sleeping aids, packaging, food, alcohol, textiles, plastics, paper, construction, sports products, and many more.
Most giants in each of these industries will inevitably become involved with Cannabis and adopt it within their existing offerings, as well as creating new Cannabis-based products and services.
Coca-Cola will create Cannabis-infused food and drinks, Heineken will create Cannabis-infused alcoholic beverages, and Nike will create hemp-derived shoes and clothing, and so on.
Cannabis Production Grow Houses
This unprecedented growth of the industry will require a massive amount of infrastructure for the cultivation of cannabis. In order to fulfill the rapidly increasing demand for this plant, the industry needs new grow houses and infrastructure to be built.
Indoor grow houses represent the industry preferred way of growing cannabis ā the problem is, the energy demand of cannabis grow houses is astonishingly high. It requires 10x more power per square foot than a standard office building, and 66x more power than a home.
The excessive use of energy is unsustainable, expensive and creates an unacceptable amount of carbon footprint.
Currently there are 6,800 estimated warehouse cultivation operations in the US, and cannabis is not yet legal on a federal level. Once cannabis prohibition is over, this number can quickly grow 5x-10x, in order to meet the new demand.
In Denver alone, 4% of all electricity goes to cannabis cultivation. Total power requirements in the Cannabis sector has tripled since 2013 and will increase by 162% by 2022. This trend is completely unsustainable, and the its carbon footprint is unacceptable.
The SCT team was determined to find a solution ā to assist modern day cannabis farmers/cultivators by developing a system that would produce a higher quality cannabis crop with near zero-carbon energy footprint, resulting in no greenhouse emissions of gasses, no toxic pollutants, no greenhouse gases and no water loss in energy production.
Through the GreenCannā¢ system, SCT provides the perfect solution.
The GreenCannā¢ System
The GreenCannā¢ system combines solar, wind turbines, battery storage walls and smart LED low voltage lights along with proprietary nutritional and watering protocols that grow larger and healthier plants with far less energy use.
Solar Cultivation Technologies (SCT) is a new startup company that was founded by a group of leading Colorado based cannabis industry pioneers with extensive experience in all aspects of the cannabis industry in both Colorado and numerous other states for the past decade.
The SCT GreenCannā¢ system is the result of years of confidential research and development in a large-scale commercial cultivation warehouse in Denver, Colorado. Colorado has emerged as a leading hub for cannabis research and development and is becoming widely recognized as the āSilicon Valleyā of cannabis.
The GreenCannā¢ research team includes commercial cannabis growers (that have grown over 14 tonnes of cannabis over ten years) working with sustainable energy engineers, plant scientists, nutritionists and LED lighting experts in the relentless pursuit of the āperfectā system for growing cannabis.
For the past five years the Denver based SCT team has been conducting extensive research in the quest for two things: The production of larger healthier plants grown by LED low energy light in an indoor (warehouse) cultivation facility and to power the entire grow with solar and wind power.
Due to recent technological advancements it is now cost effective to design a warehouse that will produce large quantities of cannabis and enough energy from nature to support the entire indoor farming operation.
SCT has just completed a highly positive final test harvest of its cannabis Super Plantsā¢ cultivated at the companyās Denver research center.
The results with the cannabis plants that were cultivated using the GreenCannā¢ system were exceptional and displayed a remarkable 30% increase in overall crop yield and were healthier premium grade THC content.Ā
In addition to providing a turnkey solution that allows cannabis producers to get completely of the grid, produce 100% of their energy needs in a green, sustainable way and grow larger plants with higher yield, the SCT-built warehouses will come fitted with all equipment and materials necessary to grow cannabis, and with a ready-to-operate dispensary.
Conclusion
The unprecedented growth of the industry will require a massive amount of infrastructure for the cultivation of Cannabis, and SCT created a made-for-you solution for new and existing operators to grow the much needed Cannabis plant in the most clean and efficient way, without having to worry about logistics, equipment/materials and sales.
When prohibition ends, the floodgates of the Cannabis industry will open and there will be a tremendous and almost instant demand for Cannabis products. Our goal at SCT is to provide all producers with the most advanced and efficient systems and tools to produce Cannabis and run a profitable business in a way that is sustainable for our environment.
Our goal is to lead the industry to a near carbon free future by 2025; higher yield and superior quality cannabis production powered by the sun and wind. This is GreenCannā¢. This is the green future of cannabis production.
