Dr. Justin Ranaan, an award-winning Beverly Hills periodontist and an active philanthropist, talks about his contributions to charitable organizations and his volunteering experience, to help bring smiles across the faces of many who don’t have the means and access to proper annual checkups.
Dr. Ranaan believes in giving back to the community in one way or another and actively tries his best to make a difference through his charitable organizations. He has been involved in volunteer work throughout his professional years and had the opportunity to travel on health trips organized by Christian Medical and Dental Association Mission Trips. He was one of the eight students selected to serve on an annual trip to underserved areas in Central America to provide comprehensive dental care and education.
“I have been privileged to serve with other dental students to El Salvador and Guatemala. These mission trips were very fulfilling because I was able to provide oral health care and education around the world,” says the Rotarian dentist, Dr. Justin Ranaan.
He has also worked with Queens Care Foundation in East Los Angeles, providing oral health screening and spreading oral health awareness to elementary school students in high-need areas.
Dr. Ranaan is incredibly passionate about making a difference with the charitable organization, ‘Homeless not Toothless’, where he along with the other volunteers, treats the homeless and brings back their smiles.
“We are raising the pride and dignity of the homeless, foster youth, and underserved through quality dental services,” says Dr. Ranaan.
The ‘Giving a Smile Foundation’ began as an altruistic vision of Dr. Ranaan and his brother, whilst they were at Harvard. The foundation is a family-oriented operation based upon family values, as each child is treated as an extended member of the family. This kind of familial approach is exactly what drives and motivates Dr. Ranaan to revolutionize dental education and spread awareness to the underprivileged areas of Los Angeles.
Dr. Justin Ranaan is also the co-founder of ‘The Bahar Foundation’ that promotes safe driving through education, community outreach, and advocacy. The foundation is also working towards providing alternate means of transportation to the ones who cannot drive.
Other charitable organizations that have been privileged to have the services and dedication of Dr. Justin Raanan include Dental Mobile Clinic and AYUDA, both in Los Angeles.
