Rob had most of his life in order and was successful in many different areas. He had what most people only dream of – a solid family life, a great career, great friendships and lots of hobbies. The only thing Rob didn’t have in order was his health. Rob, however, decided not to be held back by the one thing that threatened to take happiness from his life. That is why he did what most intelligent people would do. Rob needed help, so he went looking for it in a bid to salvage his life and take care of the area he needed to improve most.
A Sustainable Way of Living
Apart from the fact that Rob acknowledged his weakness and decided to work on it, the next biggest contributor to his success came from finding the right person who offered the right kind of assistance. When Rob met his coach Jason Priest, he opened up about the health challenges he was facing and how he was willing to do anything to overcome them. Unlike most people with similar challenges as his, Rob knew exactly what he wanted. That is why he asked to be taught a sustainable way of living. There was no way he was going to spend hours in the gym every day and/or give up all the foods he loved. Somehow, he knew there was another way, and unsurprisingly, Jason knew what Rob was looking for. So both of them got to work.
Tackling a Weight Issue through Mindset
Rob’s journey into a free and healthy lifestyle started with one invaluable lesson from his coach, now turned mentor. If he was to succeed in losing the weight he wanted to lose, he and his coach had to work on his mindset. Since there were no two ways about it, Rob agreed to the proposition. Changing his mindset became an integral part of Rob’s weight loss journey and the secret to his success.
All through the coaching process, Rob learned that it is consistency and discipline that make up an effective formula to lose weight and remain fit. His coach helped him change his mindset, which is actually a process that takes time, and by sticking to the formula each day, he was able to reach his goals.
Apart from the mindset training, Rob had to also learn how to incorporate nutrient-dense foods consistently into his life while maintaining his busy work schedule. He was often packing a cooler for his time away, which was already a step in the right direction. By making a few adjustments from his coach’s regimen and implementing the recommended food options on a daily basis, Rob was already on board.
The Journey’s Ups and Downs
Rob was already aware of the importance of proper nutrition but he needed to learn more about what foods are healthy and good for him. He believed in the saying “we are what we eat” and he was eager to learn. This made a smooth transition for him as he immediately took a liking to many of the nutrient-dense foods suggested to him by Jason.
The final piece was fitness and this presented some challenges. Not because Rob didn’t want to exercise, but because he didn’t always have equipment available whenever it was time to work out. Contrary to what anyone might be tempted to think, there was an easy fix to the problem. Thanks to his coach’s ingenuity, there were several different workout options and all could be done in less than 40 minutes.
In the end, Rob didn’t need to spend endless time in the gym in order to accomplish his goals. There was also no need to alter his lifestyle to make him feel uncomfortable. He lost 25 pounds in just 3 months in the most sustainable way one could ever imagine.
Bottom Line
If anyone is bent on improving their health, then they should follow a sustainable plan. Without sustainability, long term results will be nothing but a dream. Following a fad diet or a rigorous workout routine might fix things, but only for a short time. Rob’s success proves that sustainability is the way to go should one desire to re-define their dad bod without giving up any of their favorite foods or implementing radical changes to their lifestyle.
