Being independent can be one of the more challenging tasks while navigating through the business world – even more so in the entertainment industry. “It takes dedication, patience, and perseverance,” Bobby Dee said. This is the type of dedication, patience, and perseverance that Bobby Dee has put into his 33 years as founder of Bobby Dee Presents, the entertainment company that produces some of the hottest concerts across the United States and internationally.
Being independent can be very tricky, and that is part of why Bobby Dee explains that being independent is both a major advantage and challenge at the same time. When asked about what separates his company from his competitors, Bobby Dee said, “The fact that we are independently owned and operated, we make our own decisions.” However, in the same light, when asked about the biggest challenges that he has faced, Bobby Dee responded by saying, “My challenges along the way have consisted of, being an independent company and having to deal with major booking and talent agencies not taking you seriously.” You can see that being independent weighs heavily both positively and negatively, but Bobby Dee has certainly found plenty of success down the path of independence.
Bobby Dee has great advice for young entrepreneurs. He said, “Remain patient, vigilant, and don’t let the doors slammed in your face get in the way of your goals.” Even Bobby Dee started out by doing shows for local night clubs back in 1987 when the company was first founded. Now he has partnerships with Snoop Dogg, and he works with promoters such as AEG and Live Nation. These opportunities would have never come about if it were not for the patience and dedication from Bobby Dee. If he had ever given up in his 33-year journey, then he would never have been able to work with the high-profile clients that he is working with today.
What does the future hold for this successful entrepreneur? “I see myself continuing to expand our talent agency and continuing to bring unbelievable festivals across the world,” Bobby Dee said. He continued by saying, “We are going to continue to exceed everyone’s expectations and will eventually manage international artists.” The aspirations are high for Bobby Dee Presents, but there is nothing that his team cannot accomplish.
