What are you working on? How did you come up with this idea?
Carlos Barrera: I am currently working on a Global Health Information System (Cloud based) called MediciNets, the idea came after noticing how difficult was for doctors to administer their agenda, manage patient’s clinical history, request analysis, generate recipes, manage the medical insurance and have access to all that information in one place, making more time available to actually attend the patient, and improve the communication with them. As for the patient is a pain to find the right doctor, in terms of quality, distance from home or availability, and make appointments and have notifications about any change of schedule according to doctor agenda.

What were your biggest failure and biggest success? What did you learn from them?
My biggest failure has been procrastinating decisions based on other people’s opinion, is always good and necessary to listen to everyone, the feedback is a very important personal tool; nevertheless, if your instinct tells you to start something new or stop doing something you don’t enjoy anymore you should take immediate action and follow what you know you will be the best at. I biggest success was to become the CTIO of a big ICT company, I wanted that since I received my grade from the university and made everything to be in that position, I learned on every step of the path and now I am applying all that knowledge as Board Member and Co-founder in different startups.
