No matter what he dives into, Pierre Balian never fails to be wildly successful. His competitive, creative and authentic abilities are what sets him apart from other entrepreneurs. With the extraordinary combination of fashion, music and marketing, there is no doubt that Pierre’s name will go down in history.
Although born and raised in the sunny city of Los Angeles, California, Pierre spent most of his childhood and early adulthood on the ice. Starting at the age of nine years old, Pierre worked tirelessly to become an olympic figure skater. Working towards his dream, he spent every early morning and late night at the rink. His whole life was solely dedicated to figure skating, leaving him no time for other activities.
But at the age of 26, Pierre’s life was turned upside down. During the European Championship, a competition to qualify for the Olympics, he sustained an injury that ultimately ended his figure skating career. For 16 years, figure skating dominated Pierre’s world. Despite this massive curveball life threw at him, Pierre persevered and enrolled himself in the design program at The Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandise.
“I dedicated most of my life to a particular sport- a certain career and then it didn’t work out quite how I wanted it to. But even starting midway through that at 27, I was able to reinvent myself, spark a new career and become successful at it. The message of that is that it’s never too late to do what you really want to do,” said Pierre.
Pierre made great strides in the fashion industry immediately after graduation as he became the stylist for Jeremih, an American singer, songwriter, rapper and record producer in 2012. Quickly moving up the rungs of the Hollywood ladder, he became the assistant stylist for the cover shoot of Chris Brown’s album “X”, opening up his world to rare opportunities that most only dream of. Through his love for music and dedication to the industry and his career, he was able to create long-lasting connections with not only Chris Brown and Jerimih, but Justin Bieber, G-Eazy and many other billboard artists.
“My favorite part of what I do is being in the studio, creating music and changing people’s lives- one song at a time,” said Pierre.
Being constantly in the studio surrounded by amazing musical talent, Pierre quickly learned the ins and outs of the industry. His knowledge expanded immensely, to the point where Pierre diverged from styling artists to managing them. In 2017 he created his own LLC, a musical management and production company called “For the Culture Couture”. In addition to being the founder of this company, he is also the co-founder of “The Viral Marketer”, a company that helps brand and advertise smaller-budgeted artists.
“In our business, we have a lot of clients that come in and say ‘Hey we paid this person to do this for us but they disappeared on us after receiving payment’. We are different- we are in the art of taking care of our team and also making sure people feel at ease and know they are in good hands. We want people to feel comfortable doing what they are doing, which is giving us money, and knowing that we are gonna deliver satisfactory results,” said Pierre.
But Pierre is not stopping here. He is beginning to dive into the international music world, specifically working with Latin artists. His main focus is to bridge the gap between Latin and American artists. He is currently working with Maffio, a Grammy award-winning music producer, composer to help achieve this goal.
Recently, Pierre was in Miami to work with Maffio and two Latin artists on the rise. One of Pierre’s most amazing qualities is his ability to work and connect with different types of people. Not only has this helped him expand his platform over the years and create ties with well-known artists, but also gave him the ability to help underground artists rise to the surface. With his sedulousness and painstaking skills, he is able to perfectly craft and produce multiple music projects rapidly.
“My work is very fast because I know what I want and how I would like to make it. It’s very easy for me to come up with the ideas that I do, for every particular artist according to their likes and their needs. When people work quickly, things move a lot faster,” said Pierre.
Expanding his horizons over the years, it is almost unquestionable that Pierre will create a successful record label in the near future, as he sees himself doing. His long lasting connections with various artists and wide ranging platform gives him more than the ability to do so. With his inspiring work ethic and dedication, Pierre continues to strike multiple industries for the better.
