A good indicator to determine if someone is going to be successful is if they have three sequential things: people, processes, and platform. Most people have the hustle, the dream, or the skills but they lack the people, a process, or a platform. A good mentor has the people, the process, and a platform. Let’s define what this means.

You might have the most intelligent people in the world with the greatest opportunity, but if there is no process, then goals will not be achieved as time-efficiently as possible.
The “platform” is where the skills, hustle, and people can be applied to in order to achieve what they want. If you think about how you will achieve something great, you might think, “Why will I do this? Who will I do this with? How will I do this? What will I do this with?” The platform is the “what”. You can have the greatest people in the world with the greatest process of doing things, but if you don’t have anything tangible to apply this to, then you won’t actually accomplish anything.
These three key points work together sequentially. To achieve greatness, you must have all three working together. A mentor helps you find and use these three key points. He or she may already have all three of these things and is simply looking for someone to give them to.
Now that you know why a mentor is important, you need to understand what constitutes a good mentor.
Let’s look at Logan Young as an example.
